Outdoor Living

The Local Lifestyle

Whether you are looking to relax with your favorite book on the patio or be active on the courts, Westport has something for everyone.

Breathtaking Beaches

Westport is home to three gorgeous town beaches, Compo, Burying Hill, and Old Mill. These beachfront destinations have Lifeguards on duty from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, and your favorite pooch can run free during the off-season. Sherwood Island Park also includes a serene beach adjacent to the stunning park along with Fairfield’s neighboring beaches.

Longshore Club Park

Located off the Long Island Sound, the Longshore Club Park is centered around community and activities. From golfing to tennis to sailing, there are countless ways to seize the day. Longshore also offers special pricing for residents of Westport, making it even more of a local draw.

Joe Feinleib

"Westport has a little bit of everything to offer its residents. A central location that has convenient access to 95, the Merritt, and an easy train ride into NYC. Fantastic waterfront views with activities like sailing at Longshore, paddle boarding on the Saugatuck River, and picnic dinners at Compo Beach. Plus plenty of opportunities to expand your arts, culture, and education awareness through town organizations and events."

Shop Around Town

The charming Main Street and Church Lane are lined with local boutiques like Savannah Bee Company, ORGÁNACHS Farm To Skin, Fig Linens and Home, and WEST, blended with well-known names such as Tiffany & Co., Anthropologie, Lululemon, Intermix, Serena & Lily, Design Within Reach, West Elm, Williams-Sonoma, and Patagonia

You cannot miss the Westport institution Mitchell’s, a family-owned boutique department store, known for phenomenal service-oriented customer service.

"Mitchell's philosophy being "Hug your people" resonates uniquely throughout the store and through all of the Charitable events they host and donate to. I always appreciate Zack's generous guidance when choosing gifts for the men in my family."

When it comes to outdoor activities, Westport delivers.

Practice yoga in town at Kaia Yoga with outdoor classes located in the park or opt for yoga with an ocean view at Maggie Taylor Soulful Living & Wellness, where they host select classes right on Fairfield Beach.

"I love Yoga on the beach with Maggie's guidance. What a great way to start off the day."

Paddleboard or kayak down the Saugatuck River or voyage to the marina to sail or boat around the Long Island Sound. Equipment may be rented for the day at Sea Kayak and the Longshore Sailing School

Ride on!

Westport is also the home to Fairfield County Hunt Club, the famous equestrian club with heritage status to boost. World-renown for the competitions and horse shows, the FCHC, founded in the 1920s has solidified its place as one of the most unique and stylish clubs in Fairfield County. The Hunt Club also features pools, tennis courts, and children’s summer camps.

Tennis or golf anyone?

In addition to The Hunt Club, Tennis courts are located at the Longshore Club, Doubleday Field Complex, Town Farm Ball Complex, Staples High School, Birchwood Country Club, and Westport Tennis Club. You can also find pickleball courts at Longshore Club.

There are also three convenient golf courses in Westport, Westport Longshore Golf Club (public), Birchwood Country Club, and Shorehaven Golf Club.

Hiking at Winslow Park and Aspetuck Land Trust is another fantastic activity to enjoy the outdoors.

"There are so many options for our family hikes in our area."
